Proposed Activities

ASRA will focus on multi dimensional development of the child with special needs – physical, mental, social, spiritual, psychological, emotional and economic needs with the objective to integrate him/her into the mainstream.  Following schedule will be undertaken:

  • Identification of children will be done by the CBR workers and admission formalities will be completed.
  • Each child will be assessed by a team of professionals consisting of psychologist, social worker, special educator, physiotherapist, occupational therapist and speech therapist.
  • As per assessment, the child will be placed under a special educator. Special educator will develop IEP (Individual Education Programme) highlighting short and long term goals.
  • Child will also be assessed by PT, OT and speech therapist.
  • As per assessment, child’s therapies will be planned.
  • Periodic progress of the child in academics therapies will be assessed after every three months.
  • Once a month, case conference will be organized by the team of professionals to review progress of the child and chalk out future plan of action. Parents can also be invited for such sessions.
  • Towards the end of the academic session, annual assessment of the child will be done to promote him to the next class.
  • Children above 10 yrs. will be exposed to different skill training programmes to enable them to select a vocation which they would like to take up as a career.

  • Inter school competitions with other regular and special schools.
  • Exchange programme like dialogue on topics such as rights of children, current issues, etc. with children of other schools.
